This sheet shows information and stats relating to your handicap. Editable fields are in bold.
A handicap requires at least 5 rounds entered. Until then the USGA rules state to use the maximum handicap of 36.4. Note that if you already have a handicap, the calculated handicap on the spreadsheet may not match the handicap you already have until the rounds it uses are in the spreadsheet (last 20 differentials and in some
situations tournament
scores up to a year ago). For more information about how the handicap system works see The USGA Handicap System Manual.
Revision - Your
revision
handicap is your current handicap index used when playing rounds. It is updated on the 1st and 15th of the month.
Trend - Your trend handicap includes rounds played since the last revision. The letter "L" is added to the end to
indicate
that it is a local handicap.
Highlight - Select from the drop down Revision, Trend, Both, or None. This allows you to highlight the scores actually used to calculate your handicap.
Active Season - Set the first cell to the start date of the active season in your area and the second cell to the end date of the active season. If your area's active season is year round leave this blank. Only rounds at a course location
currently
in active season are counted towards your handicap. To find when active seasons are for different areas see the USGA Handicap Revision Schedule.
Rounds
The rounds section shows the rounds included in your handicap. The lowest of the differentials have a red star and are the rounds averaged to find the handicap index. How many are used depends on how many rounds are entered. An 18 hole round requires at least 13 holes played. A 9 hole round requires at least 7 holes from the same 9 played. Nine hole rounds are combined to form one 18 hole handicap differential.
The tables form an
overlapping
diagram to show the rounds used to calculate the revision and trend handicaps.
Yellow - These are the rounds used to calculate your latest
revision
handicap. The red started rounds on the left are the rounds used to calculate the handicap.
Blue - These are the rounds used to calculate your trend handicap. The red started rounds on the right are the rounds used to calculate the handicap.
Green - These are the rounds used by both the latest revision and the current trend.
History - Shows your
revision
history
during
the period of rounds displayed.
Tournament Record - This is a record of all of your
tournament
scores. Your two best
tournament
score differentials from the last year are included in your handicap. They only affect the calculation if they are
significantly
better than your regular rounds. When this occurs, an "R" for reduced is added after your handicap.
