Linking Spreadsheet Files

Linking to another spreadsheet file provides the following –

• Match Play Results - On the scores sheet, this displays the hole by hole and final results of a match between two rounds.
• Match Play Stats - Calculates various stats related to match play results.
• Compare Stats - Compare stats between two spreadsheets.

To change the file linked to in a spreadsheet use the Edit Links Dialog Box.

1. Click on the Data Tab and the Edit Links button.
2. Click on change source and find the file you want to compare to.

For match play functionality you need both files open at the same time in Excel. For comparing stats you just need one file open however if you make changes to the other file while this file is not open you may need to update the values on this sheet.

1. Open the Edit Links Dialog Box as before.
2. Click on update values.

If you want Excel to prompt you to update the values each time you open the file -

1. Open the Edit Links Dialog Box as before.
2. Click on Startup Prompt
3. Select Let users choose to display the alert or not.
4. Click OK and save the file.

Note that different versions of the Golf Stats Tracker are not necessarily compatible with each other for linking. If using an older version for either file, use the import macro to bring it up to date.
